Pat Heath (known online as @patheathguitar) is a prominent UK-based professional rock/metal guitarist, session musician, and music educator. 

As self-styled "The Guitar Mercenary," he has built a highly respected career spanning over two decades across the British and international rock scenes. 

Key Projects & Bands

  • Solo Career: He writes and releases his own instrumental rock music. He released his solo record String Theory and followed it up with the album Electric Giants (featuring singles like "Blue Sky Thinking"). 

  • Band Work: He spent five years as the lead guitarist for melodic rock band Tyketto (playing on their 2007 album Traveller). He also recorded and toured extensively with the UK heavy rock band Furyon, contributing to their era of the Gravitas album, produced by Rick Beato. 

  • Session & Tribute Work: He has done session work for various touring artists and notably contributed a high-octane cover of Cacophony's "Go Off" to a benefit tribute album for guitar legend Jason Becker. He plays in the UKs JRN3Y (Journey tribute)

Industry Roles & Education

  • ESP Guitars & ENGL Amps: Pat is an official product demonstrator and brand ambassador for ESP Guitars. He frequently co-hosts the ESP School of Metal Guitar video series alongside Jamie Hunt, teaching the playing styles of iconic bands like Pantera, Death, and Judas Priest. 

  • Educator: He is head of Performance at Waterbear music college, Sheffield training the next generation of professional guitarists, having been on the original guitar faculty at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music alongside Guthrie Govan and founder Bruce Dickinson.

  • Guitar Journalism: He contributed a monthly column and instructional guides for Guitar Techniques magazine
